Providing Value

The dictionary describes value as, “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something”.  Adding or providing value into other people’s lives is an indisputable life principal.  The amount of value that you contribute to others will define the degree that people will hold you in regard and the love that they will show you in return.

If you are in the service industry, the amount of value that you add to your clients and their business is a single factor that will set you apart from the many others who provide your same service.  Ways that you can accomplish adding value is by being a problem solver (even when the problem may be outside your realm of normal services offered), by doing more than what you are paid to do, by providing additional or exceptional service and expecting nothing in return, by keeping your client updated on processes before they can ask you for an update, or by getting to know your clients well enough to anticipate their needs and have resources lined up in advance.

Let’s dig deeper.

In your personal life, the amount of value you add to your friends and family will be a direct correlation to the amount of value and love you will receive back.  This too is what will set you apart to be the best of friends and loved one.  Ways that you can accomplish adding value is by being a problem solver (even when the problem may be outside your realm of normal services offered), by doing more than what you are asked to do, by providing additional or exceptional service and expecting nothing in return, by keeping your friends and family updated on processes before they can ask you for an update, or by getting to know your friends and family well enough to anticipate their needs and have resources lined up in advance.

Sound familiar?

Our challenge today is… ask yourself, what more could you be doing for others to set yourself apart?
