Auld Lang Syne – Happy New Year

A New Year is upon us as we say goodbye to 2021.  This year has had its challenges but has also been very rewarding.

As we close out this year, we thought you might enjoy learning about the history of the saying “Auld Lang Syne”.

Traditionally, sung to bid farewell to an old year at midnight on New Year’s Eve, Auld Lang Syne is a popular song that has been sang over many generations.  Loosely translated as “for the sake of old times”, Auld Lang Syne comes from a Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788.

We hope that you enjoyed this little history lesson.

Happy New Year!  May God bless you and yours!!!
